So what exactly is this resource?

This guide has been created to assist students with online and digital learning at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David. We have created it to help you to get the best out of your teaching here at UWTSD.

This guide is split into three main sections, which you can view by using the navigation at the bottom of the page or by using the menu at the top of the page. You can also download our checklist to keep track of your progress as you work through the guide.

Whether you are a new or existing student, it’s important that you take the time to read through the whole resource - while some information may be familiar to you, there is likely to be information about support, resources, and teaching that you may not have seen before.

There are a whole range of people in the University who can offer help, support, and guidance for the issues you might face during your studies. We have highlighted some of the key services here to give you an idea of the different types of support we offer, and so you can note down any important contact details.

Academic Support tutors are an integral part of University life at UWTSD and is designed to help you get the most of your time here. Your Academic Support Tutor can support you through your studies, your personal and professional development, and help you to consider your options for the future.

Your Academic Support Tutor can help you tackle some of the challenges you might face during your studies by being that first point of contact, listening and signposting you to the right support services.

A professional support service providing high quality information, advice, guidance, practical and emotional support to enable all students to reach their full potential.

We have a range of services dedicated to providing specialised support and helping you to make the most of student life. This includes:

Library and Learning Resources offers a wealth of print and online learning resources, specialist support for academic and digital skills and a variety of flexible learning spaces to accommodate you whatever you’re doing.

Our Student Essentials section includes our InfoSkills Programme to help improve your academic and information skills, the DigiCentre to help you develop your digital skills, the University’s Referencing Handbooks, and your online resource list, which provides you with access to all the reading and other learning resources for your course. For further specialist help, your Academic Liaison Librarian and Digital Skills Advisor are always available.

In our Help and Support section you’ll find everything you need to know about joining and using our libraries at UWTSD, our Customer Charter and the services we offer to staff and external members.

The IT Service Desk offers technical support and guidance on a number of topics including software for home use, IT remote support, and accessing IT services. You can find more information on the IT&S support pages on our website.
